Absolute is operating as a recruitment business for the supply of temporary opportunities. our customer is looking to recruit an experienced Technical author to join their manufacturing business in Newport on a temporary basis, with the potential to lead to a permanent position. You will prepare and revise technical documentation, test documentation and CAD drawings to aid the assembly and testing of complex capital machinery. Principal responsibilities will be
1) Revision and amendment of electrical and mechanical CAD drawings, 2) Updating of manufacturing support data in Microsoft Word documents, 3) Maintenance of manufacturing test document in Excel spreadsheets form, 4) Creation of new manufacturing test documents in Excel or Microsoft Infopath. Qualifications/experience: 1) Experience working in an engineering and/or production environment, 2) Desirable to have worked within a complex electro-mechanical batch built equipment, 3) Experience working with ERP systems, Bills of Materials and Product Data management (PDM/PLM). Skills: 1) AutoCad experience essential, 2) Electrical AutoCAD experience desirable, 3) Solid Edge experience is required, 4) Very good Microsoft Excel skills are essential including the ability to write VBA macros, 5) Microsoft Infopath Form creation skills are desirable. Ideal candidates will come from a good all round mechanical/electrical engineering background and used to dealing with electrical drafting/engineering and you will be confident in working with engineers and taking other peoples information in order to create and update documentation and specifications. Our customer is recruiting for an opening within their HR/Payroll function as soon as possible to join them on a part time basis - 32 hours per week. You will be involved in collating and processing information relating to payroll for 130 staff on a monthly basis, so a good eye for detail and ability to work out shift rates and overtime rates is therefore essential. All information comes from an internal system and will need to be transposed into an Excel or similar format for communicating all necessary information to the associated payroll agency for completion. Whilst a detailed understanding of Payroll is not essential, a knowledge of the details surrounding it will be beneficial. In addition, you will be involved in HR related activities - predominantly from an administration perspective, maintaining all personnel records and processing new starter/leaver related paperwork. You will support in recruitment activities, performance and disciplinary related processes and deal with any day to day HR related requirements for the site - though a full HR department and support will be available to you from within the Group. A formal HR qualification is not essential for this position, though would be useful. Stock Control Administrator - Part Time |

Absolute is acting as a recruitment business for the supply of temporary vacancies. Our manufacturing customer is looking to recruit a Stock Control Administrator to join them on a part time basis to cover maternity leave for at least 12 months - to start as soon as possible. You will work closely with all departments in order to make sure you have a full understanding of all orders going through production and future orders pending production, as well as reviewing forecasted production schedules in order to evaluate stock levels required. You will calculate volumes of product required for production and work closely with suppliers to process orders for such in order to satisfy production demands. You will need to have an eye for detail and an ability to work out volumes and quantities to ensure that you are ordering the correct amounts and that stock levels are maintained at the right amounts at all times. Ideal candidates will come from a similar type of role within a manufacturing organisation. This role operates over a 24 hour week.
